Before grandkids, my girls and I always got together to make Christmas cookies and did cookie exchanges, gave to friends and neighbors, but with the little ones and busy activities, it was something that fell by the way-side. This year, the girls wanted to do it again (not that any of us needed it) and I am so glad we did!
But this year, my grand-daughter is now 14 and she was able to join in the fun....and she loved decorating the cut-out sugar cookies! We took a break at noon we went out for nice lunch....then regained making more cookies and candy.
If this is a tradition you once did enjoyed, I urge you to think about doing it again.

Comments (9)It's always very nice as a conifer friend is visiting your place! The first time I met Bob was back in 2004, during the U.S. conifer tour organized by the Dutch Conifer Society. Also in 2012 Henk and I visited Bob again. He and Larry Stanley visited my nursery in 2009 (I think it was). In those years he was like a kind of mentor to me and I learned a lot from him. Nowadays I'm learning and observing things my own way. Somethimes Bob and I don't agree about certain things, but that can happen. This is a discussion forum, so things may be discussed here, somethimes it could take a long time and we still don't agree at the end :0) This doesn't say about us conifer loving people, because I still see Bob as a good friend. Comments (17)Thanks for your wonderful compliments! He does look like Caryn...but it is so amazing how MUCH he looks like his parents!!! I don't feel right posting their pics, but you would all be simply AMAZED...Caryn and his mother could pass as sisters! The 'sperm donor' (I know some don't like that phrase..but it fits this!) was 6'7" so he will be tall...but his dad is about 6'4", so there again, he fits the family! We were so blessed to have the hand of God making things come together on this whole story, because I don't believe that it just 'happened'! It is so interesting when we are all together tho...you sure see Nature vs Nurture! lol He leaned over to Caryn this time, and touched her skin and said 'your skin is just like mine'...of course then he just went about what he was doing!
