I need a retirement gift idea
Comments (3)Any serious gardener would love to own a pair of Felco pruners! They're simply the best, better than all the rest! To have a tool like this at your disposal when you garden a lot just feels so indulgent. Felcos make your work easier. They also do a great, precision job of pruning, which is better for your plants than pruning with inferior cutters. If your friend already owns a Felco pruner, surely he would welcome another into his life. I know how excited I would be to receive another! I'm linking you to Felco's #2, but if your friend has smaller hands (as I do) Felco #6 would be a better choice. Here is a link that might be useful: Felco Pruner...See MoreI need a gift idea, too!
Comments (10)Did you see my thread a couple of weeks ago about the two vintage Porsche ads I bought and framed? That might be an idea for you if you can think of one of his special interests (his car?) and have enough time to do it. (I bought the ads on eBay.) Are they camping in an RV? Maybe books on the subject? A pair of binoculars?...See MoreIdeas for Baby Gift
Comments (37)Buy larger size, one family I nannied she got alot of sleepers, etc. that her youngest son got at her baby shower and we kept changing him so he would actually wear and one was really long and yet when we said lets try it his toes are at the end and couldn't wear them long, they grow fast. What is really nice buy toddler clothes if you know if its a boy or girl. The baby equipement and such are extremely high prices, the car seats alone now a days are huge and like $300 and up and strollers and highchairs, all those things now. The best for parents to do is buy second high, join toy library where they sign for toys for however long its agreed and return it so kids get different toys. Instead buy books, that is so needed, read and be with the child in learning stage but enjoying it. I agree don't buy mobiles or things that parents decorate their babies rooms....See MoreSeeking ideas - gift for MIL
Comments (20)So many nice ideas here. Thank you. Reading your responses has really made me realize what a blessing she is as a MIL and grandma. My kids do go on one-on-one slumber parties with her and grandpa when they can. Unfortunately our school and sports schedules cut into it a bit right now. She also has season passes to many local places already. Again, we go when we can. We already have a cookie making date scheduled so perhaps we'll add a gingerbread house into the mix. My kids love doing those. Public outings make me a bit nervous. My kids are well behaved, but sometimes being out-numbered takes its toll (like when you're sitting in a theater and someone needs to go potty.... take them all with you and leave your snacks behind... ugh!). She would never go for the babysitter idea. I love the idea of going for a tea. In fact there is a wonderful historic restaurant that does it here, but my boys would hate every minute of it. Maybe I'll go with her! My boys would love the city bus since it's not something we ever use, but the family joke is that grandma has zero sense of direction. I'm sure they would get lost! Top Secret Adventures look very interesting. I will look more closely at that! I think my best bet will be a personal spa treatment of some kind, then a fun at-home activity like the gingerbread house. Thanks!...See Moreeld6161
