What's everyone doing this weekend?
Comments (7)Vicky, Sorry about your SIL. Maybe his stay over the weekend will get him on the right track. A burst appendix is serious. I am so sorry about your not seeing your DGC. I have spent today flying 2 of my 4 GC home after 10 days with us. It is not a good situation but my former DIL has no problem with us having the children. Actually, she looks forward to us having them. It is a hassel as I have to make two round trips, one to get them and then take them home but that is better than not being able to see them. My daughter also comes when they are here with her 2 so all 4 have been here. We have fun but they get tired and eventually cranky. We basically just do whatever they want to for the time they are here. Making memories. Since my GD has started school they have been coming once in the summer. Who knows how long they will want to come. We have a 10 yr old (my daughter's son), two 7 yr.old GD's (1 from each family) and the youngest a 5 year old boy! I do see my DD's family more often because they live about 4 1/2 hours away. This Nana24 is tired tonight! This week will be dedicated to cleaning up! Hope all have a good week. Comments (39)Like the quilt pattern Theresa........also would have never thought of using strips to create that star. I'll have to keep this one in mind. Beautiful quilt btw. Redmary...........I got out from under a lot of UFOs (unfinished objects) and swore never again becuase it niggles at you when there are piles of quilts in all stages awaiting attention. At present I'm working on one quilt, with one quilt top finished and waiting to be sandwiched. But no hurry on that one, it was a spur of the moment quilt and may sit that way for quite awhile until I decide its destination. I like to have a quilt or two completed or near completion at any given time so that when an occasion comes up I'd like to use it for a gift, it's a simple job to get it ready to go. The quilt top I finished would only take me a couple days to machine quilt....See MoreWho's quilting this weekend? June 22-23
Comments (2)I am and as usual, it has to be applique for my job. So, I kit things up during the week. I would also like to get a quilt loaded on the frame but not sure I'll get there. I get so excited about new things I forget to go back and finish up the mundane projects, last month's "excited" things....See MoreWhat did you quilt this weekend?
Comments (7)2 weekends in a row, no sewing. Had to go through 12 boxes of cookbooks (old) last weekend that belonged to MIL, now waiting for anyone who wants any to go through them again, all that aren't chosen will be going to the local ministry and sold at the monthly flea market - all proceeds go to the homeless/needy. They were not cared for, kept in an un-airconditioned and dirty environment. I had to inspect and clean each one separately. This past weekend the 3 grandkids spent the weekend. Yesterday I went back to volunteering at the local community center for developmentally disabled adults (equine therapy). You want to find out what hard work is, try pushing a horse around all day in 90 degree heat. I also volunteer twice a month at the other center (data entry). And today it's catch-up time with laundry and finally getting some rest. On top of that I never finish-mowed the lawn so that needs to get done, too. I need to find a job so I can get some rest!...See More- 10 years agolast modified: 10 years ago
