Being retired, it's all one long weekend. Good and bad. I feel compelled to do something productive every day, so in a way, I never get a break! It's supposed to cool off significantly by Saturday, which will be good. Saturday mornings are cemetery days. I am hopeful that we get a good turnout of volunteers, get some stuff done, and have a fun lunch afterwards. Sunday morning is Sacramento Farmer's Market, and I stop in before to see how the Sheriff's Work Crew in the cemetery is doing. We have plans to get together with my niece's family later in the day. 18 mos old and 3 yr old great-nephews. Happy times. We may go to the beach on Monday. I need some healing time by the ocean before going back to Ohio to deal with my mother's estate. When am I gardening at home? Since every day is the weekend, that's the plan for Thursday and Friday mornings, along with writing my Oct garden column, and doing some other paperwork. Sounds pretty good, doesn't it? Lucky me. Vicky, Sorry about your SIL. Maybe his stay over the weekend will get him on the right track. A burst appendix is serious. I am so sorry about your not seeing your DGC. I have spent today flying 2 of my 4 GC home after 10 days with us. It is not a good situation but my former DIL has no problem with us having the children. Actually, she looks forward to us having them. It is a hassel as I have to make two round trips, one to get them and then take them home but that is better than not being able to see them. My daughter also comes when they are here with her 2 so all 4 have been here. We have fun but they get tired and eventually cranky. We basically just do whatever they want to for the time they are here. Making memories. Since my GD has started school they have been coming once in the summer. Who knows how long they will want to come. We have a 10 yr old (my daughter's son), two 7 yr.old GD's (1 from each family) and the youngest a 5 year old boy! I do see my DD's family more often because they live about 4 1/2 hours away. This Nana24 is tired tonight! This week will be dedicated to cleaning up! Hope all have a good week. Sally aka Nana24

Nice scooter, Raven! MS, I really want to live at your house for a week, though I'd probably gain 10 lbs because I have no willpower when good food is around. Susan, have you tried mustard for muscle spasms? It sounds crazy but it absolutely works, if you can stand to eat it. My mother has been using it for years for leg (thigh is the worst,) cramps and recently another elderly friend started using it--both keep it on their nightstands. Perhaps this is something more serious and painful? Isn't anyone watching soccer??? It's making for a lazy weekend for me.
