Like the quilt pattern Theresa........also would have never thought of using strips to create that star. I'll have to keep this one in mind. Beautiful quilt btw. Redmary...........I got out from under a lot of UFOs (unfinished objects) and swore never again becuase it niggles at you when there are piles of quilts in all stages awaiting attention. At present I'm working on one quilt, with one quilt top finished and waiting to be sandwiched. But no hurry on that one, it was a spur of the moment quilt and may sit that way for quite awhile until I decide its destination. I like to have a quilt or two completed or near completion at any given time so that when an occasion comes up I'd like to use it for a gift, it's a simple job to get it ready to go. The quilt top I finished would only take me a couple days to machine quilt.

Not over the weekend, but I did go to Sit and Sew tonight... Picked up the Bernina from the shop on the way and looked at fabric... 80 bucks to fix the thread cutter, but it is working like a champ now. There were only 9 people at Sit and Sew tonight... I worked on an Irish Chain using my grandmother's fabric. The food was awesome (homemade pulled pork, pigs in a blanket made with honey and nuts, homemade peach cobbler... and I didn't even cook tonight, I just bought a glazed marble cake from Publix) and I was able to sign up for the quilt retreat day in October... we're going to make a Window Pane 9 Patch. It should be fun and 25 people have already signed up for it. Linda I'm glad there's good news about your heart! Jackie, what a sweet husband to want to spend the day with you and to be concerned about you not getting out enough... so considerate! I can totally relate... after working a full week, I just want to sit down in front of my machine and relax and not deal with anyone!

I also didn't get as much done as I wanted to this weekend .. Ended up at the Library Sat. morning, got James Patterson's new book ... realized last nite I'd almost finished the book. Spent a lot of time outside Sunday with the dogs, went for a couple long walks ... was just too nice to be inside. Uploaded more flower photos, something I've been meaning to do for a while. Was reading/watching the Grammys last nite when a neighbor called and told me to lok out the window cuz the sky was orange from a barn fire over the hill. I could hear the police/fire scanner behind her and realized the fire was at a friends place... they called out 4 fire companies. Drove by this morning, the hay half of the barn looks totaled, but the cow half is still standing. Waiting to hear from them how they all are... fires are scary things! Pam

Thank you Donna, Bev & Lois. My birthday was actually earlier this month, but Friday was the first day all of us girls could get together when there was good weather.... we have had excessive rain this month. Lois you can get dimmer cords that have a slide button on one end and a double sided plug on the other end and you plug your lamp cord plug in to the back side of the double sided dimmer cord plug and the dimmer cord plug is what actually plugs in to the wall.... you should be able to get them at Walmart or maybe Lowes? We have had ours for many years so can't remember exactly where we got them from.? Well we went visiting Saturday afternoon and this afternoon I helped my son finish sorting and purging out old toys, .... so only had a little time this afternoon to finish hand-piecing a Granny Square Quilt block.... fixing to start on another one in a little bit. Best to you all, Sandra
