It'll be a Pelargonium or Geranium. I'm not sure on the difference between them.

Yes its confusing. I think all geraniums are classed as Pelargoniums, but this is a geranium. Common bedding variety.

Disease-resistant crabs with both showy flowers and conspicuous persisting fruits might be a better value. These are easy to grow. However, if the dogwood or redbud grow wild in the vicinity that might indicate an advantage - unless your soil in its current state is different from that which they grow in elsewhere nearby. Red Passion flower plant not flowering

Hi all, I have a red Passion flower in a container which has not flowered for two years.. It set the buds but the bracts were empty and then they fell off. May be there was some fungal infection? Many leaves also became brown and fell off... I pruned it and Now the plant is putting out new growth.. I am in Pune, India... Very hot and dry right now ... Max temp 42 c ... Should I repot now or wait till monsoon? Does Passion flower need acidic or alkaline soil? Not sure what is required for these plants flower regularly. Please help Thankyou

In my opinion it's a pelargonium - a little different from proper geraniums. Below I've posted a typical geranium flower (G. Sanguinium). Geraniums are not quite as hardy as pelargoniums, for example they generally prefer a cooler climate. You might also note a variation in leaf form. I'm not sure of why taxonomists placed them into the same 'Geraniaceae' family, but that's the way it is. By the way, once I moved mine to a warmer, sub-tropical, climate, it didn't survive.
