Comments (12)LOL just noticed the title... should have been (") inches, not feet! lol Oh, but Carol, I think I would find it boring to have the same weather every day. Day in day out. Beth, I grew up in Edmonds! How long has he lived there? So many broken trees. the sound was amazing though. The bad part is over. It's been about 35 degrees all day and raining. The wet cold, well it's bone chilling when you are out in it, but at least no more sleet!...See Moremy cat has pissed all over mynew carpet! Help!
Comments (19)I realize you just moved, but the first thing you should do is take him to the vet and make sure he doesn't have a UTI or crystals in his urine. Once illness is ruled out, then you can address the problem - which probably is him being pissed off (no pun intended) about being moved to a new home. He liked his old one! You've upset his routine. The longer it goes on, the longer it will take to correct. I've read one homeowner bought a large crate (housed cat, room to walk around, food and litter box) and crated them for two weeks while their cat was retrained to the litter box. A room make work, with window, but somewhere he can see people, be loved on (not forgotten) and interact with people would be better. Calming agents, such a Feliway, work for some. Others benefit from Clomicalm or Prozac (given at bedtime) make make them a little loopy, but that's better than peeing everywhere....See MoreTrex has it all over wood products
Comments (8)The box stores do not even sell the framing lumber to build a proper deck. I wouldn't expect you to know the difference between grades of wood and chemical treatment processes, or the correct applications of each. If you want to learn about stuff, all the information is exchanged on this forum. You're welcome. Lets get this straight: Since you are not a professional builder, and not even a very experienced DIY'er, your place here is to ask questions and learn. If you have some meager experience, please share it with us. However, your experience is only valid in a very limited context, i.e. the parking lot at Lowes. When you start advertising for a lousy product (and Trex is lousy by unanimous consensus of experienced builders) it makes you look like one of the salespeople who troll around this site. If you know some facts, tell us the facts. And then back up your factual claim with actual personal experience. For example, you might start off by saying: "I have experience building with Trex. Here is how it compares with other materials I have worked with.... The easiest part of working with it was...but the main challenge is...If you use this product, I recommend...technique...After some finite period of time the project weathered...I perform periodic maintenance which involves...The total cost for beneficial use over time... OK, i am getting a little carried away, but I hope you get the picture. You have to back up claims with fact and experience over time. You need to establish some background credibility before you will be accepted as an information source. Since you showed up around here, you have just been singing praise for Trex....See MoreOk, so it's ipe, and we'll see under and over -- screws?
Comments (2)Got my wood at East Teak and the clip fasteners. We used liquid nails and the clip. I have boards that are just a foot or so above ground but well ventelated in some spots and no cupping at all. The screwless look is really special. And if I had a problem, I can always screw them down. This fall will be three years and no cupping issues....See MoreTexas_Gem
