(Had to scroll back to find the "nude dude". I like 'em.) I'm not a minimalist so all the "stuff" I would find interesting to visit. I'm not a fan of red rooms but so many over stuffed rooms I've seen pictures of are red so maybe that's part of the formula? The massive numbers of pillows on the sofas drive me nuts! I can imagine sitting down (daintily) and having them fall over my shoulders onto the floor, knocking the snifter of cognac out of my hand on the way down. Damage to expensive carpets be damned - I hate to waste cognac!

My wife asked me what "refulgent" meant - she'd found it in a magazine article. I was able to tell her that it turns up in a song in the Mikado, but I didn't know what it meant. So we looked it up - it means "shining, brilliant or radiant" - and it's marked in my dictionary as "Literary". I've just looked up the G&S - I was actually wrong! This is the song I was misremembering. The sun, whose rays are all ablaze With ever-living glory, Does not deny his majesty He scorns to tell a story! He don't exclaim, "I blush for shame, So kindly be indulgent." But, fierce and bold, In fiery gold, He glories all effulgent! And what does "effulgent" mean? Radiant, brilliant... I have to say that in my opinion, both effulgent and refulgent sound downright unpleasant - it's a surprise to me that they don't mean as they sound. Is there a word for the opposite of onomatopoeia?

ShOh Shirley! What a fun, wonderful package in the mail! Shirley sent me 2 live plants!! Aloe Vera and Rex Begonia and they look great. Her Elvis connections were awesome, too! Heartbreak Hotel-Heart Attack Dianthus GI Blues-Blue Enchantment Convolvulus Long Black Limousine-Black Currant Datura Let Me Be Your Teddy Bear-Dwarf Teddy Bear Sunflower Summer Kisses-Summer Dreams Cosmos I love them all. I love sunflowers and I don't have any dwarf. That will be fun. Did you have any spirit visits from Elvis or my grandmother? She loved Datura and always wanted me to plant more of them. I've never tried Black Currant. There is a pouch of chocolate covered marshmallows with raspberry sprinkles. Oh goodie! Of course I should eat my veggies first so I'll try your family favorite recipe of Fried Cauliflower. Thank you so much! I'm speechless--well, as close to speechless as I've ever been! It's sad to say, but my package is the one that hasn't arrived yet for Vina. I hope it arrives soon! Heidi
