I was in Hennessy and felt the one on the 30th. 3 distinct "shakes" and my water glass was confirming my wonder. I lived in California for most of my life so quakes are nothing new to me, I felt the Northridge quake and the Whittier Narrows quake, both were tremendously strong. When the Northridge quake hit, it slammed our bedroom door open and shut 3 times and 20 gallons of water in my 100 gallon aquarium sloshed out onto the carpet. That quake crushed cars like pancakes inside a parking structure close to the epicenter. We are having quite a few small quakes here in OK, I think we have reached the same total of all last year here in early April.

And I do not buy, not in the least, that these residents around Ft Worth, TX, have had great well water for years , until they began drilling into the Barnett Shale. What I think happened, is that people found a way to blame their bad water quality on a on oil company, that they perceive had deep pockets , and they could file a false claim. It was proven in a Texas court, that a resident near Ft Worth, rigged his water well so he could post a video on Youtube, of flames comoing from his well. The people in that area, have always had problems with shallow gas in their water wells, the water well drillers in that area, attest to this FACT. But these people want to make money off the oil company, Range Resources, and will go to any length to get into their pockets. This has all played out in Texas courts, this claim of Range polluting their wells, has been thrown out of court, and in fact, counter suits have been filed by Range Resources against these liars, who have have pressed these fraudulent claims. I mean really, these people are a notch below some lawyer who spends his day hanging off the back of an ambulance, they just lookin for money for nothin and their chicks for free.

Ironically Cindy, we couldn't watch it because of tornado coverage. lol!!! Don't believe anything you hear from someone who has a dog in the fight. The waste water causing the quakes is mostly from fracking. It took years for geologists who work for oil companies to finally stand up and admit the truth because of repercussions. Our governor ignored it for a long time, and she can't anymore. Big Money. Texas had the same problem, and they banned fracking for a year and their quakes stopped. I'm pro oil industry, they just need to go back to the drawing board. OK has lost so many jobs recently. Are you familiar with Audrey McClendon and Chesapeak Energy? He turned OKC around and committed suicide a couple of months ago. He was relatively young. The damage to people's homes are ridiculous. The quakes we felt were over a hundred miles away!

Between the years 1973–2008, there was an average of 21 earthquakes of magnitude three and larger in the central and eastern United States. This rate jumped to an average of 99 M3+ earthquakes per year in 2009–2013, and the rate continues to rise. In 2014, alone, there were 659 M3 and larger earthquakes. Most of these earthquakes are in the magnitude 3–4 range, large enough to have been felt by many people, yet small enough to rarely cause damage. There were reports of damage from some of the larger events, including the M5.6 Prague, Oklahoma earthquake and the M5.3 Trinidad, Colorado earthquake."
