I bought a very expensive Therna Tru front door with frosted side windows and the finish started to disintegrate on the door. That is because the sun hits it in the mornings and the finish just did not hold up and began to disintegrate and come off. First contacted Lowe's who I bought the door through and Lowe's passed me off to Therma Tru. Contacted Therma Tru and it started to weasel out of any responsibility on its 10 year warranty and gave me a hard time. I assume Therma Tru has had other problems with its wood look finish disintegrating. i am going to keep posting wherever and whenever I can about how Therma Tru does not honor its 10-year warranty on its expensive front doors. You have a solid steel door? I don't think so, unless you live in a Bank. You cannot just stick a double hung window in a door. If you are having issues with the glass, I would suggest carefully measuring it and then contacting a door manufacturer and asking if they can supply you with a replacement. It would be really helpful if you knew which company made the door. Or you could just replace the door. Might be cheaper to do that.

Tapcons would be the best bet. If you use them. Remember to drill the holes at least 1/4 to 1/2 deeper than the screw is long. You can countersink the screw holes use caps/plugs to hide the screws.

When I ordered the complete new sweep, I also ordered a replacement rib insert, just in case. I took off the existing sweep today, uncrimped the ends, took out the old insert, and replaced it with the new one, trimmed to size. I didn't re-crimp the ends because it's in there pretty snugly and I don't want to have to uncrimp again. Existing sweep is back in place and I didn't have to add five more screw holes at the bottom of my door. It's a bit snug at the threshold right now, but I think it will compress a bit. It's possible my original insert shredded so quickly because it passed over a little cotton rug I usually put just inside the door. That isn't going to work anymore. No more daylight under the door. Quick fix: $5-ish, no new holes in entry door, so easy a baby could do it.
