Fun Christmas Gift Idea on Photobucket
Comments (18)Isn't this fun? That's how I got hooked on reverting photos to black and white or sepia, and then tinting them :D My photoshop has a lot of filters and gizmos....you can take a photo and turn it into an oil painting look. Something my daughter and son in law got me. There are a lot of free brushes out there to use in photoshop for adding visual effects, it's like having an ink stamp to add to the photo. Like adding clouds, or spiders and a web, or flowers. I took photos of my grandchildren, and added butterfly wings to each, and printed them out to a 4x6 size. Then I cut them out, and used glitter glue pens, and added some rhinestones here and there, and then made pixie jars, or fairy jars with them. Some were Christmas gifts last year, and the recipients LOVED them. There is a flicker candle in the lid, battery operated....See MoreHelp with unique Christmas gift idea
Comments (5)Last yr. I made my g'kids calendars with pics of them & our activities tog from the year...but instead of just doing a pic, I printed off "coloring sheets" ... you can do this in some software programs ...and then I took it to a copyshop where I had the plastic circular spinal binding put on...think it was like $3 each or something like that. Anyway, the "coloring-book pics" are kind of funny cause they turn cartoonish...& the kids enjoyed looking at them...as well as the adults. Just an idea...you have a good one, too...altho I don't know if the 4 yr or 7 yr can appreciate how good your idea is! Time flies for us it seems but 2-l/2 wks. until Christmas is an ungodly amt. of time for my 9 yr. old GS! Of if my 12 yr old GD had a $25 shopping spree coming in May, I don't think she could stand the wait! Good luck with your project! Jeanne S. (if you do Photoshop, you can get an idea of what your pic would look like color book like). Jeanne S....See MoreChristmas ideas for adult kids...
Comments (20)Here's another item I think could be fun (I want one!) It's the Boogie Board (again, it's at a higher price right now on A, I've seen it at $27). I first saw it at Brookstone (or was it Sharper Image? get those two stores mixed up). BTW Brookstone/SI are two stores good for finding unique gifts for people who have everything. Another idea is to get them a Christmas decoration, a fancy ornament for the tree for instance. When my MIL was alive she was the hardest person to buy for, didn't seem to like or want anything. Until I stopped looking inside and turned my attention outside. The only time I made a hit with her with a gift was the stone puppy dog I bought for her garden. Never occurred to me before to buy her a garden ornament but it was the one thing she didn't have. I have lots of ideas for hard to please people because I've got plenty of them in my family. ;-) If you know what they like to eat you can usually do pretty good with gift baskets of specialty foods, the gourmet kind that they haven't tried before. Here is a link that might be useful: Boogie Board...See MoreFrugal Christmas Gift Ideas
Comments (4)Oh, I'm doing much better than those--LOL! Your list looks extravagant to me this year! I'm making patchwork checkers, backgammon and tic tac toe boards from my leftover fabric scraps. For the teens, I made scarves (from my bin of leftover yarn). I'll be filling in with some home-baked bread, homemade jellies and candy. So far, I've spent exactly 3.98 and I already have about 8 gifts put together....See Morelucillle
