Genie Garage door opener locked
Comments (2)you may have ran the opener and overheated it. genies will shut down and come back on after theyve had time to cool, but the buzzing noise shouldnt be there. unless you have a chain glide genie and ran it without the door hooked up. if you have a chain glide genie, take it back down, put it back in the box, and take it back to where you bought it! best bet is a craftsman for diy's....See MoreOld Manual Garage Door Lock
Comments (2)Some pictures I took for the lock from Outside: from inside: The bottom part (the box) is missing. The thing that sticks out has to connect to some kind of spring or mechanism that triggers the latch on the top....See MoreLocking garage doors
Comments (7)We have an intellicode garage door opener, which prevents other openers from opening your door. Intellicode® rolling code technology provides state-of-the-art security for your home by automatically changing your access code every time you push the remote control button. This prevents an unauthorized person from capturing the access code to your opener system and gaining entry to your garage. "Here's how it works: Conventional garage door openers are coded to send out the same fixed code time after time. A rolling code system uses a proprietary coding system that selects a new code from 4.3 billion possible combinations each time the system is activated." We do have a deadbolt on the doors leading outside from the garage (to patio area) and the one on the kitchen - and those are both STEEL doors - so yes, a deadbolt can be put in a steel door. It's important to also have your door frames enforced (ours have steel pieces running down them) so someone cannot kick the door in. A wood door can easily be kicked in. We do not leave our garage door open, even when at home. We have a huge garage with a workshop at the back and the space is heated/cooled, so another reason not to leave the door open, in addition to safety/privacy. Someone will get in a house if they want to, but you can take steps to make it harder for them. We have an alarm system and all doors leading into/out of garage have sensors as well as all other exterior doors. You can have sensors on windows too, so at least if someone manages to get in, hopefully with an alarm, they won't stay in. Of course, you need a monitored alarm system for this to work. tina...See MoreCraftsman's garage door lock light flashing
Comments (3)Whenever you run into a problem like this you need to start undoing what you have done. I would remove the battery from the keypad and then try programming the remote. I would also eliminate any possibility of a bad wall control by removing the wire on terminal #1 on the motor unit....See MoreUser
