The majority of upholstered furniture manufacturers use plywood frames Often times they will try to disguise this fact in the description of the their frame construction. A solid hardwood frame is better, last longer and does not contain the glues, chemicals and off gassing that plywood does. On the other hand it is very unlikely that you would find many manufacturers offering a solid hardwood frame in your price range. You might want to ask what type of spring construction they are offering as there are quite a few options and then educate yourself on the merits of each.

I think Kincaid makes pretty good product and I don't think this would be a bad choice.

You might want to ask is it a built in 8 way hand tied hand knotted unit unit or a pre-manufacturered drop in unit. There is a big difference. Will do. I have seen done videos like century which shows it being done in the sofa. Didn't realize they can pre fab it as well, obviously that is not the same.

I am having terrible issues with a new Kincaid custom couch. Cushions are sagging, springs are popping. After 4 months of service calls etc … they are going to replace couch. Is this couch a fluke or is this the quality of Kincaid couches? Should I give Kincaid another try or go with another brand couch?

about four yrs ago that we paid 6k for. We have two tambunctious toddler and it has held up extremely well. The only problems I have are the front cushion edges wear easily and the zippers on the upholstered covers have rip away from seams, as though covers were made too snug. My advice would be to choose your cover material wisely and make sure you pick one that can be removed and machine washed. Also make sure thst the two end cushions are the same size and the two next to the end are the same size, that way if cushions wear you can flip flop them upside down. We’d but another Kincaid in a heartbeat.

Thank you, I appreciate your suggestions. Kincaid did replace the first couch. I received the replacement 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately the back cushions are caving in .. springs popping & creaking .. bottom of the couch, black mesh has holes in it .. feet of couch, 1 does not sit flat on the floor, the other 2, the paint is chipped. Back top of the couch, fabric coming apart, nail showing.
A furniture repair company will be visiting my home soon to come up with a plan.
I’m so disappointed this is happening again with the Kincaid couch replacement.

We are on our second Kincaid couch. The first one from the comfort select line came in completely wrong. Measurements were short seating was awfully short and very uncomfortable. We were supposed to have Crypton fabric, which was amazing. The second couch was just delivered seven months later as a replacement, the fabric is correct. The couch is still short, and the seating is very uncomfortable, the back stuffing in the cushions sticks out so far that you feel like you’re sitting at a doctors office waiting for an appointment. Rather than laying on a couch that was so comfortable in the store. I couldn’t wait to get it in my house we bought through Haufmankoos and they are going back-and-forth with us trying to get this issue fixed. Still waiting for resolutions, from Kincaid. Would love to hear other people’s issues or how they resolve their issues.

I wish I had suggestions for you. I too have had my Kincaid couch replaced twice. The second one: Springs are popping (same as the first couch). Seat cushions are a little better than the first couch .. they still cave in when sitting on. Back cushion also caves in when sitting, leaving a round hole impression. I switch & flip all cushions every couple days. Had other numerous issues .. bottom black material was torn .. nail coming out, back of couch, legs .. chipping paint. The numerous items were fixed by Johnnie Janosik Furniture repair personnel (Where I bought the couch). I was told by them, nothing is wrong with the springs. Is it normal for springs to pop & creak? If I ordered a 3rd couch, they said the back cushions would be the same way! I was told to go to Michael’s, buy a bag of stuffing, cut the plastic inside, fill with additional stuffing. Really! I need to do this with a new couch!
There is where I’m at with my replacement Kincaid Couch! Where do I go from here?

Im back with an update, my initial comment was two months ago and I bragged on kincaid. Im kinda irritated because my back cushions being are coming apart at seams and ripping away from back of sofa.

Oh no! That’s Awful … Kincaid is certainly not the furniture company it was years ago. I still own a 17 year old Kincaid couch & it looks better than the new one. You should definitely go back to where you bought the couch. This should not happen!
