They are making me a little crazy right now too, but in my yard. I will often/always have the does and fawns, and don't like this time of year when the bucks are showing up. They will not back down, not even acting like deer.

It's mating season and they are major distracted. They won't leave the yard, won't shoo, don't pay any attention to cars, traffic, people, anything at all. All their senses blurred by hormones.

The rutting season is on. Should be mostly over by mid November, but I suppose the season may vary with locality. The does are in heat and the bucks go crazy - They have only one thing on mind. Maybe its because they get to mate only once a year. Three years ago, we got run over by a buck. Darkness had just fallen when a big buck came bounding toward us. He had the look of a crazed animal in his eyes as he charged. At he instant when he was about to slam into the side of our Jeep Cherokee, he did a mighty leap over the vehicle. It would have been a clean jump except he struck the top of the car with his hind hooves. He scratched the rear glass, put a dent in the rain rail, and left a patch of hair stuffed under a seal, He landed in a heap, got up and disappeared into the night.

In Wisconsin, we get almost as many deer with vehicles as hunters do with guns. Maybe that is an exaggeration, but we do spend more on vehicle repair or replacement than hunters do on guns and ammo. If a deer is hit at highway speeds, it may result in serious injury or death (to people).

I wish you the best of luck. When you look for damage, do raise the hood and inspect the two radiators, one for the air conditioner and the other for engine cooling. Look for bent radiator cores and supports.
