Since you are doing a chandelier, I 'd be inclined to do chrome.

Unless you have satin nickel elswhere in the room, I'd go chrome. If they'd relate to the color of your island, you could also go black or orb.

My stainless steel appliances have satin nickel pulls, I guess that's why I was drawn to that, but now I am thinking maybe i should be doing chrome.

How dirty will chrome handles look? Seems like satin will hide more. I think a mixture of chrome and satin nickel will look fine and my guess is no one will even notice except you.

Chrome will show finger prints more than the satin nickel? I am getting a square know, so it will be visible. Hmm... so satin nickel or chrome.

Chrome always seems to show more because it's shiny where the satin is dull to begin with. Also, just something to consider. I used square knobs in my bathroom and it makes me nuts when they are askew. With a round knob if it turns a bit you will never know. I do love my square knobs but I only have a few in the bathroom.

Thanks. I've ordered both. I am doing square knobs with rounded edges and pulls on drawers.

The bottom pull matches the knob much more in color and feel, but I am afraid it's too thin.

That style of pull, I'd do the satin nickel as shown in your pictures. I don't think you'd notice the finish difference between the knobs & the pulls so do whichever pull you like better. I have 3 different brands of polished nickel & the slight differences in the finish are not noticeable.

Agree with romy. The brushing looks good on that contemporary style. I don't think of chrome as being contemporary.

Someone mentioned square knobs turning. Most cabinet knobs have teeth so they don't turn.

I have never seen a fingerprint on a drawer handle, although I have seen copious amounts of cookie dough from time to time (small children). I would not let a fingerprint be your guide. I would get pulls with rounded edges so that I didn't accidentally slam my hips on sharp corners. I would definitely think long and hard about the pulls on the sink cabinet as that is the one cabinet you will be in direct contact with.

Ours is mixed too. Antiqued nickel knobs. Similar finish on the pendants. And polished chrome on the tap, brushed for the sink. And Siemens inox stainless steel for the fridge and freezer. I've put them all together ( nothing installed yet) and they all look good.
