Hello all , I would like to get some of you folks knowledgeable opinions and thoughts about some ground cover plantings on a steep slope on a new house construction project (owner built). I have attached a photo to help illustrate the area im interested in which is outlined in green. Below are some detail that I hope will help.

Location: Tulsa Oklahoma

Slope: 30+ degrees

Soil type: pulverized sandstone ,layered shale, various topsoil , not a rich topsoil but has easily been able to support the wild prairie grasses in the area (about 6 feet tall grass)

Area temp extremes : 0 - 105F

Outlined area size: 40’ down slope about 400’ long

Type of ground cover prefered: Something not too tall 6” or so, a ground cover that is good about keeping the tall field grass off of the slope.

Ground cover needs to be very drought resistant and grow on the unimproved soil , it also needs to be able to take direct sunlight and Oklahoma summer sun ,no shade.

Let me know if any of you have ideas on the type of plant that would work in this situation , thank you for your time.
