Comments (3)Beautiful pictures, Ron! The gray one is a gray hairstreak. The others are skippers - I'm pretty sure the bright orange one is a whirlabout. My stokes asters haven't started blooming yet, maybe because they're in mostly shady situations. I don't see any point in buying cultivars, since you get a lot of differences in shades of blue naturally - I get some that are dark blue, some almost white, and some are blue purple. Sherry...See Moreabout time I share some photos
Comments (10)I am in a transitional period when i started in the hobby like most I would guess, I got all of them from the garden stores. In my area what that means is they are all dutch bulbs. I get all mine now from the NW online. Every once in a while i see a new one at a nursury. Glorie van Noordwijk was one that i got from the garden store I really liked. Its ashame that we cant get the online varieties in even the finest garden centers. I went to Longwood gardens for the dahlia tuber sale but came away disappointed. Choaclatemoose if you would like the Glorie send me a line I will send you a tuber....See MoreMade time to take some more pics
Comments (18)Hi all, and glad that you enjoyed the pics. I actually have quite a few more to post, but didn't have time to put them in this post. I will try to post some more tomorrow. Rita, ORCHID ELEGANCE is one of my favorites and a great performer. The color is a soft clear pinkish lavender, and my pic is pretty true to the actual color. The only other DL I have that is similar, but a bit bluer in color is LINDA SIERRA. I really love that one also. Glad you enjoyed the pics. Linda...See MoreTime for some more pics
Comments (14)Thanks everybody! Inga, I think it's fun to take pics of the cool-looking weeds. And I agree... all our flowers were once weeds!! Carol, I don't notice much fragrance on JOSHUA BRADLEY. But he's a beauty!! Irisgal, VIENNA CHARM is a weird rose. I've had it for maybe 6-7yrs, and this is the best bloom I've ever seen on it. Actually, there was a second one that opened after this one that looked good too. But, unfortunately, they blow within a day. There are a lot fewer petals that you think on those blooms. It reminds me a lot of another rose I have that's not a very good one, and that's SIGNORA. They both have few petals and blow within a day. I'm going to s/p SIGNORA, but not VC. I like it better....See Moreravencajun Zone 8b TX
