Do I need to cover my newly planted JM tonight? Lows in the 30s.

Our Japanese Maple has been planted for just over 2 months now... just heard that we're going to dip into the 30's tonight and will have frost. Should I cover the JM with a big sheet (tree is about 9ft tall or so)? 90% of the leaves are still on the tree but they've begun to start falling off for the fall season. Wasn't sure if I needed to protect it from the freeze or not. Chances are we'll have temperatures back up in the upper 70s for several more days, so this is just an early cold front.

Thanks in advance for any advice!
:)
