It's not the adults that you need to worry about. They are easy to see and to squash. However they laid eggs which will hatch into very vulnerable young scale. Spray the entire plant and the substrate with whatever you choose, Neem oil or whatever at weekly interval 3 times after eliminating all the adults you can see. Also look under the old bracts at the base of the pbulbs if that applies. If in one month there are no more scale, you were successful. Nick

Yes, please post an overall image. It helps to know what the rest of the plant looks like. So if it's just one or two, no big deal. but if the entire plant is off-color, it could have a problem That said, it would help us to have a bit of history. -- when did you receive it? If during cold (or hot) weather, that could have set it back. -- where it is growing? indoors; greenhouse; outdoors? -- if in a pot, what size? -- also, what did you fill the pot with? -- How you decide to water? (eg Potting mix is dry; or "because it's Saturday")

My raspberry leaves, currently planted in a half barrel, are showing streak-like mottling of yellow and brown. New leaves are blackish at the tips with a distinct line moving towards the stem. All affected leaves are curling and eventually becoming brittle and dying. This is affecting the plant as a whole, although curling/dying seems to happen more rapidly at the bottom of the plant. But even topmost new growth has this. I have pruned all affected leaves, hopefully to stop the spread, but I need to know what I'm dealing with! At first, I thought aphids. I hunted thoroughly for signs of aphids in the plant yesterday, checking the undersides of the leaves. I didn't find a single one on the plant, and they're usually pretty easy to spot. I sprayed for them anyway with a dish soap and peppermint essential oil mixture. Just recently started fertilizing once a week with all purpose plant food, since the plant is producing fruit. I water 2-3 times a week, since I live in Colorado and it is dry and hot right now. Otherwise, the plant is healthy. It is giving new fruit and leaves in abundance, and also new canes, as well.

I grow year round indoors under T5HO lights because my climate (wind, rain, fog year round) doesn't support citrus, or much else for that matter ;-) The room I have them in has 8 other citrus trees and 37 plumeria. The lights are on 12-14 hours a day and during that time temp is 88-90*. When lights are off 72-74*. Humidity 42-44%. I have four fans blowing constantly and irrigate with rain water. Would poking more holes in the sides of the container help? Any other suggestions? Really appreciate your input!
