Do your pets have an alternate caregiver? Important, pls read.
Comments (10)That's a terrible story. It just breaks your heart :( DH and I recently wrote wills and the care of our animals was one thing that has really bothered me. We don't want to go to the trouble and expense of setting up a trust for our animals, and decided it wasn't necessary. Instead I spoke with my mother about caring for the animals (only cats now) if something were to happen to us. I trust that she would step in and make sure they were cared for if a temporary or permanent event occurred. We also decided to set up a money market account as "POD-payable on death" directly to my mother. Since all our assets would otherwise be held in trust for our DD if something were to happen to both of us, this allowed us to set aside some money for the care/re-homing of our cats that would pass outside the will, should something happen to us. Again, I trust my mother to do the right thing for the kitties in that unlikely event and having that money set aside and available directly to her gives me a lot of peace. Comments (4)Buehl, please do! I was just trying to save something of use. I'd been checking the GW all night, turned my back for 15 minutes to watch the Health Care vote, and whammo! all the posts were gone. I kept refreshing, thinking, "This can't be!"...See MoreWhere do you keep your paper towel holder?
Comments (20)Mine worked. I got a super short one at Target. I have linked one below, but IIRC, mine was even shorter. Maybe the size used for sidelight curtains down the sides of a front door? I've also seen oval shaped instead of round, which I think might work better. As a precaution, I added two of those square peel and stick pads made by 3M, like the Command hooks you can pull off. So if the rod tries to slip down the cabinet wall, the pads give a little resistance. I though, honestly, it might not hold, but it has, and the upper lip of the door provides a good resistance angle to rip the towels across. This is in a 15" cabinet, tho, so no room to slide around. Here is a link that might be useful: Rod...See MoreDo you read the newspaper and have it delivered to your home?
Comments (39)I read the Bismarck ND tribune on line everyday. I think a subscription for out of state is maybe around 400 dollars already. In state the last I know it was 240 and that was about 15 years ago. I can't afford it. I like to keep up on things there. I just found out that my last great aunt died at the age of 98. Some of the news is online before it is in the daily paper though. I don't understand why they do that. We subscibe to the small town local paper here in our county. It is about 28 dollars a month. I too started getting it so I would get to know about some of the people here and what was going on when I moved here. I also got another small town one the first one or two years but I cancelled that one. I sometimes read the Pierre Capital Journal on line. There is a paper that comes out of Pierre that is free. It is the want ads and flyers from the CPJ so I see what is on sale and the rummage sales if I am going to Pierre....See Morechisue
