How to save plants from herbicide

Hi, We have a neighbour who is accessing our property and spraying herbicide on our garden. Initially he was targeting small shrubs, but has moved onto trees. He killed a young lime tree and a patch of well established dahlias, and has now been spraying old trees (some of them 50 years old). We can tell when he's sprayed the trees as the bark discolours slightly and all parasitic plant life on the bark dies (but only on the patches he sprays). There also seems to be a bit of an oily residue. If we can see that a poisoning has occurred recently, is there anything we can do to save our plants?
