for the people who have taken up coloring

Raven, thank you. I might get those. Have you used them yet and if so do you like them?

I did see a set at Costco, might be the one you mentioned previously, for about $20, but I didn't get them.

That was probably the one I got it was the same price. I have not tried these yet I just opened the package, the metal case is neat.

I used some of these tonight on my work in progress and they are good. For the gel pens if it is not flowing right tap the point hard 3 times on a tablet of paper then try it. That's the instructions that was in my other set and seems to work.

I have enough colors to try lol! They would be very colorful and sparkling.

I hope you don't mind if I veer off your topic a bit. I visited Washington state last week and saw some interesting coloring books by Sue Coccia featuring Pacific Northwest plants and animals. I got the one called Woodland Critters. Inside each animal are images of other PNW plants, animals, and emblems of the indigenous people. I'm looking forward to starting it.

Oh my goodness those are beautiful! I might need that coastal critters one. I received my Angie Grace book and was very surprised that the sheets are not perforated for easy removal. It's not nearly as easy to color them in the book as it is a single sheet in my clipboard. Plus I have to put a sheet of paper under the one I am coloring in case of bleeding through. I am keeping the individual colored pages in clear protective document holders in a binder. All the other books I have purchased have perforated. You will enjoy that beautiful book socks.

Good quality paper, printed on one side, perforations are all good in an adult coloring book.

I've tried to limit spending on coloring. I think it was you who said that you weren't sure how long this would be a hobby so let's not go crazy with the books and pens. I saw these books in a little store but said to myself, "No, you don't need that." But could not stop thinking about it when we went to lunch and so walked back later and got the one I liked. Not as inexpensive as some others available. I was going to post an uncolored picture here but thought it might be against the rules protecting the artist. Well, I'm on my way to Big Lots! (P.S. The books are on nice cardstock, only one side printed, and they can be removed by undoing the spiral but you'd still have the little slot holes going down one side.)

That kind of binding will allow you to fully open up the book so it's easier to use. The Angie Grace book is bound just like a regular book, I can fold it back but that puts a permanent crease in the cover.
I would have spent the money for one of those. I definitely don't need any more gel pens. I don't mind having multiples because some are already getting low.

I know what this thread is about, but when I see the title Coloring People on the index, this is what I think of (for those with older eyes, it's the praying hands of a nun in the middle one):

Oh yeah like the show skin wars where they actually paint on the human body as canvas. I like that show.

The one I posted was from the World Body Painting festival in Austria. I had no clue it was a world festival kind of thing or that there was a TV show about it, though I've known some models who've done it so kept going there about coloring people. :)
