Jacuzzi Bath Tub Issue

I have a Jacuzzi Gallery model jetted tub. I have had no issues with it for 7 or 8 years, it has worked flawlessly until last week. I was in the tub and it was functioning normally, then for some unknown reason the thing seemed to be putting out only 1/2 the power it normally would put out. This model does not have an air valve inside the seating area however it does have 2 non adjustable air valves located near the motor. I am not sure what has happened here with it. I tend to think that the air valve has gotten stuck.

Check out the airjet tubs (Bain Ultra and Aquatic). They blow air to circulate the water and then blow plain air after the sensor detects that the tub is empty to make sure no water is left standing in the system. Another thing to consider w/a whirlpool type tub is that the water may get very cold while you sit. The Aquatic tubs have a line (HotSoak) that has a heater included that helps the water stay warmer. xc60 - sounds great - I know just enough to be dangerous. I love this forum. I learn more from it than going to the plumbing showrooms. katmomma, you will have to search this forum for air tubs. I can help you with selecting drop in tubs based on shape, size, quality. You basically want a good quality air tub without the price tag. Mirabelle tubs are well designed, deep and I see that folks on this forum have purchased them as air tubs. They are private label for Ferguson (made by Clarke). I like the feel of their acrylic better than Kohler. I don't see folks talking about Kohler air tubs but they make a solid whirlpool and are priced right. I do not know how the Jacuzzi air tubs are but I personally like their designs - they are priced right for you too. Jason, owned by the former Jacuzzi folks, can get pricey. Same with MTI, Hydrosystems, and Americh. Maax tubs are nice but I see on this forum that folks say that their air tubs are loud.

Hi All! Does anyone know where I can get the best price on a toto Ultramax in Va? I used a dealer in WV but can't find my invoice to use them again. I'm looking at about 400.00 Plus, can anyone share their experiences with either Jacuzzi or American standard corner bath tubs? Specifically, the heater component, the jets and the brand itself? I' m looking to place 60 inch corner tub. I'm interested in the Jacuzzi but DH likes the Cadet by American Standard. I don't want to spend more than 2,000. Any ideas? Please TIA Dawn

This could happen to an adult too. I would disable that bathtub's jet pump permanently. I doubt there are non blockable drain covers that can be retrofitted, but I could be wrong. Consider replacing the tub with either a conventional or more modern design tub. This is called suction entrapment and the current codes and laws in place have forced manufacturer to male design changes that greatly reduce the chance of this occurring. The VGB Act is what you want to Google. Jetted tubs are not good for anyone unless meticulous care is taken sanitizing it after each time the tub is filled. The plumbing can hold stagnant water. Bath water in the pipes can become a breeding ground for water. born bacteria. NEVER leave little kids in a body of water unsupervised. Shame on you. What were you thinking!
