Good find! I believe it about Lowe's. Gardening as a hobby is growing so fast that I doubt that even plants at Lowe's are staying there long enough to deteriorate much. I keep meaning to stop at the Lowe's on the way to work, expecting to see healthy plants, but my pocketbook's afraid to. ;) So far the rose cuttings are doing well. It's only been a couple weeks, but one has already sprouted new leaves ~ and that's without rooting hormone or really good care (they got pretty dry last week once or twice). I haven't checked for roots, don't want to disturb them, so the new leaves may just be a sign of how healthy the plants were. They were gorgeous, so the limbs may have had enough energy to sprout new leaves without roots.

Love the bedding and the pink accent items. The bedside lamp is super cute. Perhaps a valance or some curtain panels in a pink print like used in that toss pillow on the bed would add a nice touch to the window. Good luck finding some art work/pictures for the walls.

What a beautiful living room you have made. The credenza under your TV is particularly gorgeous. Here is what I would consider doing if this were my room- just to give you ideas to play off of for a start. I would begin by finding some blue, patterned throw pillows for the sofa and the arm chair. I like Indian block prints. They are classic and fresh. What I have shown is not exactly bargain, Target/Home Goods, but aside from the Ginori, it's not terribly expensive either. Here are some from John Robshaw: And for the blue arm chair, I thought something like this could be fun: Next I would find an orchid or cyclamen for the table by the blue arm chair. I am partial to cyclamens, so here: I would look for a silver cachepot. Here is a simple one from The Enchanted Home. I like how the silver echoes your side table by the sofa. I would like a much simpler/more modern silver cachepot, this is all I could find right now. Then for the coffee table, I would find a few pretty and interesting coffee table books: Assouline, Phaedon, Taschen, Rizzoli all have great, colorful, conversation sparking titles available. It is very common to put stuff on top of books on coffee tables. That is not my thing. I would rather just see something pretty next to the stack of books. Maybe a bowl or a vase in this Ginori pattern (Orientale in azalea): Lastly the table between the sofa and arm chair could use a lamp perhaps. I would look for something sculptural in crystal. Like this from Horchow: Your room is lovely and will come together more and more over time. Don't rush yourself. Wait to find things that really speak to you, so that you infuse the room with your personality.

My husband's always right. ;) The bracts on these are smaller than bougies I've had in the past/present and appear to bloom the entire branch length, not just on the ends, which really pleases me. Not sure if smaller blooms are related to the cultivar or plant stress. The nursery was not watering their bougies as well/often as they should in this heat. In fact all their plants seemed to be struggling with heat issues and lack of water. Usually this guy's plants are so perfect, too, so I was shocked the bougies were dried out to the touch. New buds come out burgundy and then transition to this bright red with a hint of orange to it. I'm watering these 2 daily and also gave them a weak all-purpose fertilizer hit this morning to hopefully get them looking their best.
