Dishdrawers - Fisher & Paykel, Kenmore or Kitchenaid USERS???
Comments (10)I have an integrated F&P double dish drawer and really like it. It has taken some getting used to and requires rethinking about how dishes, glasses, pots, etc., are loaded, and there are some limitations on height of items that can be placed inside, but it is quiet, saves water/energy, cleans well, and gosh darn it, I like the cute little chime noise it makes when I open it up! If I had the space, I would definitely put one drawer on either side of the sink because it is so easy to just use the top drawer. Depending on the amount of daily cooking I do, and let's face it, all of us are doing more home cooking these days, I do full loads in each drawer every other day. The two design elements that I would love to see improved are: 1) having a top sprayer since sometimes there's residue that doesn't get all washed off due to the bottom-only wash arm, and 2) needing to position cookie sheets, big pans, plastic cutting boards, etc., at a slant inside if they are wider than the drawer height so that the drawer can close. Hope this helps!...See Moredishdrawers - dcs by fisher paykel (included in dcs promotion)
Comments (3)Well, he's the one who usually cleans the kitchen after dinner (and my cooking mess) so I do have to take his opinion into consideration here with the cleaning of unsealed burners. From what we read, many people say it's just as easy to clean up as with sealed burners, it's just that whole what-you-don't-know aspect. I thought they would be functionally the same, but then again, I have heard of other brands have used inferior equipment or factory processes when creating for a different line/store. If they are truly the same, then im fine with reading the FP reviews and going from there. Since we saw the new AGA Pro+ yesterday though, the BS vs DCS (and associated dishdrawers) might be a moot point....See MoreFisher Paykel dishdrawer installation
Comments (3)The main trick is to follow the included instructions, don't skip or short-cut any of the steps. The main sub-tricks are: 1) Apply the adhesive moisture shield to the underside of the countertop per the instructions. 2) Position the drain hose Y-joiner properly (with the hose connections in a horizontal orientation, not vertical such that one hose port is above the other). 3) Route the drain hoses on a loop as high as possible up under the countertop, then straight to the Y-joiner -- DO NOT let the drain hoses sag between the high loop and Y-joiner....See MoreFisher & Paykel DishDrawer plug?
