Thunderbird creations of draft copies

Just tonight I happen to notice my Draft folder in Thunderbird has over 400 messages in it. Looking I see multiple entries of email sent in recent days. Looking closer I see the copies are all spaced at 2 minute intervals.

This suggest to me Thunderbird is making "safety" backups as one creates an email where the creation takes one or more 2 minute intervals. This could be a nice back up for those times one spends a lot of time, maybe 20 minutes, composing an email and it gets lost before or during the "send" process.

I have never noticed these automatic copies in the past, maybe I "clicked" on something in the Thunderbird set-up by accident, i.e., don't know I did it.

Not a big problem, but unless Thunderbird goes back on a new boot the clear out these records one's dish could become loaded with unwanted copies of email messages that have been successfully sent.
