Unfortunately we are unable to separate that otherwise most enjoyable tour from the terrorist attacks that took place back home while we were there. All Canadians we came in contact with were very caring to us when they learned that we were from the Pittsburgh PA area.
I'm not sure if this is a stinkbug or some kind of weevil.

Comments (10)Stacey, there are tours & I did go through it. Surprisingly, the rooms are smaller than they appear on TV but it's a gorgeous place. The current countess is a great writer who wrote "Lady Almina & the real Downton Abbey" which was a fascinating true story about that countess who was the illegitimate daughter of a Rothschild. She set up a hospital there during WWI. Got that one on my Kindle. I got her 2nd book about the next real countess at Highclere & it's signed. The count is one who discovered King Tut's tomb & there's a display of some of his treasures....See MoreI'll Show You Mine if You Show Me Yours Mon. Sept 14
Comments (10)Thanks Igmd_gaz for the link. I was coming back to the table to say that we just ordered the hummingbird puzzle that you are doing from Amazon. And have a bid on an owl puzzle from Ebay. Looked at the link, they have so many to choose from!! Will wait to see how I do on the first one, but saw a few that I am really interested in! :)...See MoreI'll Show You Mine if You Show Me Yours Mon Sept 05

11 years agoYesterday I volunteered at a Century ride. There were three routes: 101 miles, 62 miles, and 30 miles. All covered our county's scenic and challenging (lots of hills!) dirt roads. Some of the cyclists gathered to chat before taking off. It was a great day!

Moni, people brought a variety of bikes: road, mountain, cross, and fat. Except for the fat, I can't tell the difference. :-)
Many of the dirt roads were connected by paved roads, plus they had a stretch of pavement to cover before reaching the dirt roads, so maybe that explains it. But many of the dirt roads were rough.
Here's the first group starting off. Maybe you'll recognize some of the bikes.
