Comments (12)Thanks for the comments - added Blue Hawaii after seeing one posted here, hope to return the favor to another hostaholic. This is a hard one to photograph and get the color right - I've tossed quite a few pics that aren't correct. Gesila, I'm sure mine was thru TC production and not a field grown division. Color was showing in second season, gets a little sun early in season till sumac leaf out (soon) and then it's in bright shade. Jan - that is Wood Poppy (Celandine Poppy (Stylophorum diphyllum). It comes up early and blooms thru May, but gets a few blooms later. Paul...See MoreCattleya Robert Straight 'Blue Hawaii'

Comments (3)I've had a problem similar to that this year, but I grow in pots. If it's what I had, it behaves like southern blight, but no little orange balls. It effected the smaller eyes. I had it on three hosta. This is what I would do it it were mine: 1. I'd mix up a batch of hydrogen peroxide 10% with 90 percent water. 2. I would take some more photos 3. Clean out the nasties as best you can and spray the area close to the ground where the nasties are with the solution. 4. Send those pictures to Chris at Hallson's or email him to look at the photos you have posted. Note: do this quickly, as some problems can kill a hosta quickly. bk contact form to email chris at Hallson's Nursery...See MoreBlue Hawaii and a Few others...
