trospero--all your pics are showing. The first one is a dark, dark purple (what is that rose?) and the second one is a full-bodied yellow. Why it isn't showing on yours, I don't know, but my computer son--when I complain about some computer malfunction--often tells me to click on the "REFRESH" button at the top of the screen. Maybe that will bring up the new page with your pics. As I understand it, the computer often just brings up again the original page (without the pics) unless you direct it to "refresh." At least, give it a try. Can't hurt anything. : ) Kate

Ah, interesting, it wasn't there when I previewed after adding the last comment and I had to choose file again. Good to know but will I remember the next time I add a photo to a post? I wanted to check how this tall skinny photo would show up. I noticed that all of the other pictures seemed to be resized to the same width and that the thumbnail or preview was the same size as the photo when clicked on. I liked it better when the thumbnails were small and then you could click on it to get a large photo. Anyway, this photo is one I took this week of a bromeliad in my back yard that I've had for two years, and this is the first time it has bloomed. It has two spikes, but one is much taller and bigger than the other. I had no idea what the flowers would look like, and I was a bit disappointed at first, but now I'm getting used to it, especially since the flowers seem to last quite a long time. The purple parts haven't even opened yet, and it's had spikes for a month now. It's got wicked leaves - like a very sharp saw blade - and so it is difficult to tend, but it seems impervious to pests of any kind. Lars

Thanks Lisa and the two Sara's. Site a bit slow and it would be convenient when uploading more than one photo at time to highlight each photo then hit upload rather than take each one at a time. Guess that would be a Houzz/GardenWeb thing. I feel that the merge will bring new friends and people together. Hopefully, we won't loose our GardenWeb friends as I know some have already gone away to Facebook and other places. I don't do Facebook and I've remained loyal to GardenWeb and wish to continue here. BTW, the photos were taken in my Pacific NW garden in December.
