I don't have a picture (I can grab get one if you like), but I did the same thing in my current project - new wood floor in the kitchen going right into existing in the dining room. The floor installer feathered some of the new boards into the dining room floor so it looked continuous, then I had all the existing floors sanded and refinished and stained the old+new 1 color. The result is a transition that looks completely continuous and uniform. Of course I had to refinish all my existing floors to do it. If you don't want to do that the only thing I can imagine working is a perpendicular strip to edge the new and old. It'd be impossible to match the old stain with new perfectly so you'd need something to separate the two. I have a spot in my house where the boards are mismatched so whomever installed it back in the day put a strip. I attached a picture of that.

If DD doesn't have room for them but she wants you to keep them, can she pay for the storage space? (and arrange it, too!) I have so many pictures of my own that I have actually stopped TAKING them. I think I should take them more, but since every one I *have* taken is still in the little paper envelope and stuffed into a box or on a shelf, I just can't see the point anymore. It's sort of depressing. And I'd tackle them, but that means a big upheaval, and there are other more important things to deal w/ now. I's frustrating, isn't it, when people think *you*, bcs you're the mom or the one w/ the house, or whatever, insist YOU should keep stuff THEY want? Honestly, someone's willingness to bother is evidence of how much they REALLY care. If DD or DM REALLY want those photos, they'll find a way to store them. If they're not willing to stuff them under their bed, or line THEIR living room w/ them, then honestly they don't REALLY want them. So don't have any guilt at telling them they've got 2 months to get the ones they want, and then you're throwing them out or giiving them back or dropping them off, whichever. Good luck!

Hello Laura, glad to hear all your trees made it through the storm. It's been a very mild winter here on the West Coast so far. In my two small 6 by 10 greenhouses I've been using a milkhouse heater 1500 watt from the greenhouse Megastore online. And it works great no problems at all. In my larger Greenhouse 10 x 16 I've been using and Apollo electric Greenhouse heater 3000w. my brother got it for me when he was in the UK last year. I did see some on eBay. Ah, photos. I've never been good at organizing my own which ended up stuffed in lots of cardboard boxes-many still in the photo envelopes from back in the day when you got em printed at Walgreens or CVS. I also took all of the photo albums and loose photos when we cleared my MIL's house. And last year when my dad died I took HIS photos when we cleared the house. I've started going through them and as others have done, I was pretty clear about dumping certain categories. I do not save vacation pictures, or pictures of friends and friend gatherings. For some reason my MIL was extremely fond of taking pictures of rooms and household objects she had-gone. I took pictures out of albums and then loosely started organizing them in photo boxes, usually grouped by families and/or individuals. I use Shutterfly to make photo albums and I do enjoy that process. I made one of my BIL's life in pictures for what turned out to be his last Christmas, and he was very moved by seeing a lot of images that he'd not viewed in many years. Have done an album for my son in law of baby/childhood pictures of my daughter, which he also seemed to like. Still want to do my son's equivalent for my DIL--they dealt with infertility for several years so I didn't know if she would want to see lots of baby pictures but now they've had their daughter so I will probably do that for Christmas. I do struggle with discarding pictures of my kids; it's just so damn difficult to throw away their images, even the ones that are blurry or not well composed. I'm not generally very sentimental but photos are an exception, I am so reluctant to see entire batches of family images tossed out. And at least unlike furniture or other large objects they don't take up huge amounts of space!
