Check the connection where the hose enters the sink drain. Both hose ends should be parallel to the floor, not stacked one on top of the other. Don't take it off if its not, you should be able to gently twist it near the drain, not the hose end. You might try taking the whole drain thing apart and cleaning it. First pump the water out. If you turn on the drawer, the first bit of noise is it pumping the water out - so turn it on, let that sorta grinding noise happen and turn it off. The take out the racks, the blade, the filter, the ring that holds the filter plate, the filter plate, the ring that holds the motor and lift the motor. Remove all the water with a sponge and also any soggy bits of stuff. Rinse the other stuff out in the sink. Reassemble. Clean the dishwasher guts by running an empty rinse cycle and throw in some tang or a little lemonade mix or something else that contains citric acid into the bottom first.

HomeAgain, water left in a drawer or appearing later is 99% of the time caused by incorrect arrangement of the drain hoses. Check your installation and make sure the drain hoses are looped up high as possible under the sink before they connect to the plumbing. If one or both hoses sag down below the drain connection level, water from draining the sink can backflow "downhill" into the unit, or water draining from one drawer can backflow into the other. My F&P unit is 7 years 9 months old, I've never had backflow or standing water in it. No repairs of any kind thus far. mtnrdredux and others: All the DD instruction manuals I've seen up to now have advised that only powder detergent is to be used. I checked a current manual online a few mins ago. It still instructs that liquids/gels are not to be used. Tablets are not recommended but can be used (not placed in the detergent dispenser, of course), with a warning that performance may suffer. I personally would not use tablets in any dishwasher. There's no way to control the dose. There's risk the whole thing would either dissolve in the prewash and/or prerinse leaving no detergent for the main wash ... or on a shorter/low-temp cycle the tablet may not dissolve fully in the main wash, leaving detergent exposure in the rinse.

Is the rinse aid dosage perhaps set to minimum? However, a small amount (approx 1ml) is still dispensed on the minimum setting so you should need to refill it more than once in four years. Check the setting in Options mode: Open the drawer. With Power on, press/hold the Eco button, then press/hold Lock at the same time until a long beep occurs. If your unit has an LCD window, it'll say rA. The number of lit cycle lights (1, 2, 3, 4, or 5) indicates the selected dosage level. Minimum 1ml = 1 light (Heavy). Maximum 5 ml = 5 lights. Press Lock to adjust the dosage, then Power to save the setting. You can also test the rinse aid dispenser function in Diagnostic mode. - Open the drawer, then turn power OFF. - With Power off, press/hold Lock, then press/hold Start at the same time for a few seconds for a long beep. All the cycle lights turn on (incl Eco) and the display shows ALL the possible indicators on the LCD. - Press Power *once*. The display shows HO, and all the cycle lights are on except Eco. - Press Start *eight* times. The display shows rd and only the Normal cycle light is on. If you miss the mark, keep pressing Start until only Normal is lit. - Press Lock to trigger the rinse aid to dispense at the programmed dosage and watch if it dribbles/flows out from the slot beneath the detergent cups. Press Lock again to dispense again. - Press Power to exit Diagnostics.

Okay, thanks Joe. I must have been looking at an old website as the new model numbers are a lot different. So, in the US I have the option of a unit with a remote or a unit with a "badge" which looks like it has a couple switches on it and mounts to the panel, but is pretty small And either takes or requires a custom panel. For some reason I find the FP information a bit confusing.
