#2 - Light green. Doesn't lose foliage in winter.

The "light green thing" is a threadleaf cypress, Chamaecyparis pisifera var. filifera, of which there's dozens of cultivars, many of which with golden or chartreuse needles.

Can't quite see if the leaves are opposite (#1). If they are, maybe some type of Euonymus.

The dark red doesn't really have the habit of a Weigela imo. BUt it's really hard to tell. Can you get a clearer and closer picture? It looks as if it's taken though gauze.

I disagree. I think that it is Manhattan Euonymus.

#1 - Identified! As long as you agree with me that it is a "Manhattan Euonymous" (I can't get additional photos, but my source assures me that the back of the leaves are fleshy and lighter colored). Give it a look with that in mind and let me know please?

Maybe you were joking cenpen, but do you think we haven't been trying hard enough? Do you think we don't enlarge photos as a matter of course and look very hard indeed for significant features?

We could easily give you a list of similar-looking purple leaved shrubs but any id based on that picture would be a guess. It wouldn't be an id of which we could be proud or on which you could rely.

I'm very proud of the group's ID's. I've thanked everyone. Even though my pictures were bad and the ID's weren't totally accurate they pointed me in the right direction. I've handled the Euonymus and it is definately a Manhattan. I'd have to travel to Ohio in order to obtain higher res photos. My only dissappointment is on picture number 3. I realIze that my crappy photos contribute to my dissappointment. Number 3 just doesn't look like a Weigela.

No, it doesn't and that is what I said earlier. Without a better picture we can't take it any further for you. If people don't give you an id it isn't because they aren't trying it's because they can't do it on the info given.

#3 appears to have opposite leaves, and Weigela is the only shrub I can think of that would be common in OH with opposite leaves that color.
