Raised Bed Drainage on Cement - When You Can't Get Cement Dirty?

Elise Hennigan

Hi all, I want to put out a couple of raised beds in my front "yard" - which is made entirely of cement. This cement has been freshly laid and my landlord does not want me to stain it with soil.

I have ruled out putting the soil in a raised bed directly on the cement (it gets too hot anyway). But I fear that even having some containers that drain onto the cement will also stain it.

Can you recommend a closed system where the beds can drain without leaking water?
