Comments (3)A good way to test is to take a leaf you dont mind damaging a little, try tearing it. If it is fiberus than you can rule aloe out. If it oozes a gel then its most likely an aloe. It looks like Agave to me. The picture looks like it shows possible terminal spines(a sharp tip). Not sure what kind but Im no expert. plant_junkie...See MoreAgave and Aloe ID please
Comments (11)I wish I could help, but Agave and Aloe iding are definitely not my department;). Where's Hoovb and Aloebot;)?! The first pic have you looked at Agave ovatifolia and its cultivars? Whenever I see a blue Agave that's not Americana my mind goes straight to parryi, but definitely do not think it's a parryi. The spines are very different. The bumpy Aloe maybe Aloe aculeata? At first I thought Aloe marlothii, but I don't think so. The spines on yours has a white base on each of them, and I guess that is unique to Aloe aculeata:), but I feel like I see that on other Aloes also;)....See More- 8 years ago
