I don’t have specific advice, but twice in the last year I stayed in historic buildings that were recently restored and converted into hotels. They maintained the fabulous ironwork of their original era, but they were paired with very clean-lined, modern furnishings and lighting, and the juxtaposition was stunning. I think Beverly’s advice to be consistent and have a vision is key. If it were me and I wanted to feature these beautiful railings I’d if at all possible bring in a designer. I’m curious to find out if the railings are a definite style. I saw a bit of French, art nouveau and maybe even a little English arts & crafts. Definitely too delicate for Tuscan. Congratulations on your beautiful new home.

Well it looks like it's Apple Maggot. This site had some good controls. https://www.planetnatural.com/pest-problem-solver/tree-pests/apple-maggot-control/ Based on the life cycle keeping it clean ( I hope the bear comes by soon to eat all the apples) and then applying the nematodes. Are there better nematodes than others? Or is a nematode is a nematode is a nematode? Then some of the Orchard spray and kaolin spray when it flowers next year.

Here's the little square swatch on top of the counter. We definitely aren't afraid of using color or repainting, but cabinets is a lot of work so we will probably just continue the Medici Ivory trim paint over most of the kitchen and reserve a muted olive for the island as an accent only.

Maybe something like Codiaeum variegatum 'Yellow Mamey'?
