Best flooring over radiant heat

We built a new home 3 years ago. It has concrete floors throughout with radiant in-floor heat (boiler system). After 3 years we are not loving the floors. For one, they are way too hard. Our kids have chipped teeth, bonked heads and our backs are sore. It's also very loud and everything echos all the time - it's absolute chaos with young kids and a dog. Anyway, after much research I'm confused. We're hearing varying things on the best flooring to cover in-floor heating. We know tile is best, but we do not want another hard surface - this would do nothing to solve our problems. We do not want laminate and we've heard cork just traps the heat in and counters the efficiency of radiant heat. So that seems to leave us with engineered hardwood or vinyl plank. We have looked a several samples of each of the flooring types and like several. My question is this: is vinyl okay over heat? We've heard it's okay to 80, or 81 or 85 depending on the make. In the winter we set our thermostat at 71 and leave it there. We live in a very dry climate as well. With that in mind, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Finally, would LVT diminish the resale value of our home should we choose to sell? We've been told this by several people.
