Is this what a mitered granite edge should look like?
Comments (33)Yes, they put in an extra piece of plywood because I chose such a thick edge, but we actually factored in the extra 5/8" plywood when we designed the height of the cabinets too, so that the final counter height was the height that we wanted--I am only 5'2" so my counters would usually be shorter but I designed them for a taller (average) person so they have a finished height of 37.5"....See MoreWhat other color granite complements Verde Butterfly?
Comments (2)Sativa Jaeger Deaigns: that might be just what I’m looking for. I was hoping to find something in the cream family, but so many of them have either gold or gray in them. I love the colors in this and it might work. Will definitely look for this at my local fabricator. Thank you....See MoreWhat kind of Granite do you think this is?
Comments (12)I think Colonial Cream has too many warm (orange and yellow) tones. The counter in the pic reads pretty much gray and white to me. On the granite side, Alaska White came to mind. Bianco Antico was a good suggestion as well....See MoreWhat is this granite called?
Comments (15)He says he'll come out to the farm to do the templating, and measure the sink, and decide whether to do the cut-out for the sink here when they bring the slab, or at their shop. I am not sure from what you wrote if we are on the same page. Just to be clear, what I meant in my post above was that you go to the fabricator's shop to see how the template he did at your home will be applied to the slab you've chosen. And you will choose your slab, right? At the shop you can decide which part of the slab will be cut out for the sink, which direction you want the pattern to run, and which is your favorite part of the slab that you might want in some center location. When you are at the shop, the fabricator will apply the template, like the pics below, after discussion with you, and trying different ways the template might go. Your post above seems to indicate you will skip this step at the shop, but it wasn't really clear from what you wrote. Every week on this forum, without exception, there is a post from someone who loved their slab, but didn't go to the fabricator's shop for the template layout, and then got an installation not what they wanted, at great expense....See Morerebunky
