how to place island
Comments (4)Yes sink is centered in 109" section. After having those base cabinets in yhe area for awile it does seem like better flow instead of dividibg the two rooms again like it did sideways. It seems most gw here seems to feel the same. He cut out holes in the celing and installibg the wiring for two chandeliers centered over the usland with it running paraell to stove. So I guess thats where its going . Lol. I will do all of my prep work at the island. Many years ago I had a small usland I have sorely missed. So this will be great....See Morehow to place island
Comments (5)I remember when you first posted as I wanted to help advise you but my old eyes have a hard time reading drawings that have so little contrast. Is it possible to repost a better, brighter picture of your drawings? And make sure appliances are labeled and aisle dimensions are noted. I'm guessing you'll get more responses if you make it easier for us to see your situation better. I prefer a 48-54" aisle. More spacious and only about 1/2 a step farther....See MoreNeed advice on island granite placed incorrectly
Comments (3)Thanks for assuring me that I am ok to be worried about it. I wasn't sure if I was just being too nitpicky or not. We are paying a lot of money for this kitchen. I expect stuff like this to be correct. Fixing it now, before the plumbing goes in, seems easiest to me but I have no idea how difficult this task is. Any idea how hard it is to adjust the granite after it has been placed? Do i need to worry about damage to the cabinets?...See MoreNeed advice on how far apart to place pendants over island
Comments (6)I found many answers to this when looking, but most were less than clear to me. I wish I could remember the source for this, but I copied and pasted and it makes wonderful sense. Lighting Above a Kitchen Island Pendants and mini pendants are commonly used to provide ambient and task lighting over a kitchen island or work surface. Make sure to account for equal space around each pendant. Use this formula to determine how much: Measure the length of the island/table in inches. Example: 60" wide Determine how many pendants you want and the diameter of each. Add them up for a combined diameter. Example: 3 pendants with an 8" diameter. Combined diameter = 24" Subtract the combined diameter from the length of the island. Example: 60" - 24"= 36" Add 1 to the number of pendants. This accounts for the space between each pendant and the ends of the island. Example: Since we started with 3 pendants, we’ll tick this number up to 4. Divide your subtracted value by the number of pendants. Example: 36" ÷ 4 = 9". You’ll want to aim for 9" of space in between each pendant....See Moretammyinwv
