Comments (5)Thanks for the tips, I got it working now. I agree it cuts like a dream. The shop I bought it from sharpened and adjusted it before I took it home so they will continue to work on it when needed. My yard is flat but does have a few more bumps than I would like. I really would like a front roller but I don't want to spend 200 bucks for one. I think I will attempt to DIY one. But I have found even with the casters it handles a little bumpiness better than my cub cadet rotary at its lowest setting....See MoreH. carnosa 'Chelsea'- Weird reversion
Comments (2)Hi Planto :) That leaf is just new, and new leaves often don't look like the final result for a looooong time, sometimes months. So it might be too soon to tell whether it's going to really stay looking carnosa-ish vs. Chelsea-ish. But maybe it will! It wouldn't be the strangest thing coming from a cultivar. Nice to finally learn what sometimes causes people's pictures to disappear from their posts! Comments (4)I have six I care for at work that are in an atrium with really good light and I've gotten some flowers several times, but not from every plant. They are very potbound in 8 or 10 inch hanging basket planters. I have no idea how long they've been there. They used to have bad mealy but I think I've finally gotten rid of it. They were trailing over a wall, and the client made me trim them back because she thought they "look like hair". So now the stems are probably too short to bloom. :( Hmm, on second thought, that lady doesn't work there any more, so maybe I'll just let them sneak over the wall again! :)...See Morecut white leaves off on H. Comments (13)>> I often think that listening to people on a forum is just like conducting scientific research. Yeah, I enjoy individual stories, but they should mean little to induce others to act or not to act, unless there is consensus. Maybe your hoya started blooming because it was 4 years old, not because you cut the white leaves? Or maybe it died for a million reasons having nothing to do with you leaving the white leaves on the vine? Correlation vs causation. My hoyas grow at a glacial pace, if at all. This one grew the size of each leaf more so than putting out new leaf growth. For a while I was attributing slow growth to the medium that was too water-retentive (here I am, too, with individual stories). Now I've changed the medium and put it under a lamp. Your move, hoya! I am personally still undecided on cutting the white leaves. I think I'll wait for consensus and meanwhile just admire the leaves....See MoreKim
