Are you quilting this weekend? Sept. 15-16
Comments (12)I made a quilt for my great-nephew with glow in the dark StarWars fabric and it still glows a couple years later - not as bright, but it does have a glow. We got home yesterday from our mini-vacation to Allenspark, CO after our Myrtle Beach trip was cancelled thanks to Florence. ANYWAY, we had a great time with our neighbors who were supposed to travel with us. They have a family cabin just about 20 minutes outside of Rocky Mountain National Park. We actually saw a mama bear & cub - first time EVER - in the park. They walked very close to where we were standing. We learned how to play pickleball, too. That could be addicting! Last night I spent a little time working on the fan wedding quilt and will try to finish up the fans for the outside border border while I watch football. We have 3 more days of our scheduled "vacation" but we have already filled them with doctor appointments and watching our granddaughter! Sue...See MoreAre you sewing or quilting this weekend? Comments (5)No sewing for me. I finished Charlotte's apron and we have her overnight tonight. After church tomorrow our son & DIL will get back so we'll have brunch then open presents. (the big ones too big to take to Arizona on the plane!) We leave Tuesday and won't be back until late April, so not much sewing in my future - but I will be on the lookout for quilt shops! Comments (7)A wonderful massage. She said I was very dehydrated, that she had to keep putting oil on my back because it soaked it right up. I'm always dehydrated even though I try and drink a lot, but soaking up oil? I was a little sore and still feel it, and I need to roll my head around more to keep the neck from creaking. lol All in all, a good experience and I'll do it again. :-) No sewing today......grocery shopped and napped....See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? Comments (13)Linda, prayers for a smooth surgery. I'm sure it will be a success, and just wait until you look at your pretty fabrics and see all the bright colors again! Lois and Donna, enjoy your visits with your sisters! I always have the most fun when I spend time with both of my sisters. Theresa, continued prayers for you and yours. I'm so glad your children are able to pitch in and help you. And, yay for new carpet! Bev, looking forward to seeing photos of your African quilt. Take care of that knee! Jackie, holy frijoles! You must have an incredibly high threshold for pain. My husband suffered muscles torn from the bone, and he said it was some of the worst pain ever. You've endured for quite a long time now. Praying your surgery is soon and you're on to healing quickly! PS...do ALL the therapy! It really does help. Char, hope they find a replacement quickly, and you have time to quilt soon! Sue, isn't it amazing how the littles just keep going? Here's hoping for a nap. :) Yesterday, I stitched a baby/play quilt for an extended family member this week. DD tagged along and chose the fabric. It's loosely based on the Zoo Dweller's pattern. Just some straight lines/stitch in the ditch for this one. Not my favorite quilt ever, but the recipient liked it. In case you run out of gift bags or wrapping paper (like I did!), here's an idea for presenting said quilt: I wrapped in cellophane and trimmed a couple of scraps with my pinking shears to create 'ribbon.' Easy-peasy, and everyone wanted to know which 'boutique' I found the quilt. Hahaha! Happy Quilting, y'all!...See Morepolardream
