Gardening, then start humming, I rarely ever sing.

Music has always been a part of my life as far back as I can remember. It will be a part of my life until I suck my last breath. I didn't start gardening until I was a young adult. Now they both intermingle. They make a great combination. I'll be singing or humming while I work in the garden.

I love music and have never thought of listening to it while in the garden!

I take our mini stereo outside sometimes and listen to music while gardening...

I love being immersed in the sounds of nature, some so soft and subtle it takes a while to really begin to hear them. To me it's the murmuring of life itself... Having recorded music on all the time I think just deadens one's ability to hear and appreciate that most beautiful and mysterious of all music.

I wear my iPhone and listen to music when gardening. There are usually too many sounds of yard equipment going on in the "quiet" 'burbs. :-)

Well, I don't listen to music while gardening, but if my husband comes out to help me, he always has to have the stereo on the back patio going. He's kinda hard of hearing, so of course it's usually blasting. Had one of the neighbors come and ask him to turn it down one time. I don't mind it so much, but he tends to play the same music all the time. Usually it's Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Ozzie, and Peter Frampton. Don't get me wrong, I love all of them, but hearing the same cds over and over gets a little old. (he plays them when he's barbecuing too!)

I don't know why, but without thinking, I always end up humming the Star-Spangled Banner. Helps me concentrate, I guess. But if I were to sing it, I'm afraid I would scare all the beneficial insects and birds away. Ha ha.
