How do you clean your pebble shower floor?
Comments (8)i have a river rock pebble floor in my master shower. love it. feels so good on my feet. i used "porous plus" to seal it originally. easy to use. just wiped it on. used a sponge. let dry for 24 hrs. my grout is grey--can't remember what brand, whatever tile guy recommended but nothing special-- it darkened just a little after sealing. which made me happy because i thought it was too light to start with. it's been a year now i haven't sealed it again but i'm thinking i will. grout starting to look just a little lighter in color. the pebbles looked a little tiny bit brighter after sealing and that hasn't changed at all. i try to use non toxic cleaners--"method" brand or seventh generation or windex without ammonia in the shower and haven't had any problems. also i usually try to rinse all soap residue off the floor before i get out of the shower but that's about it. when you use porous plus, try to remember less is more. you don't need much---if floor is still wet 4 or 5 minutes after you sponge it on just wipe off excess. it will get sticky if you put too much on at once and that's what you want to avoid. very very simple though. i have never done any thing like this before. good luck...See MoreHow to clean carpet inside your vehicle
Comments (6)I just use a powerful vacuum and a brush (sometimes wire)..When really serious about, I remove the seats - a ton of trash and some good items can then be found.. This was easy on the older cars. With a Saab 96 all a man had to do was simply slide out the seat. VWs were also cheap and easy to work on.. Now this can no longer be done - NOT good.....See Morecar windshield....

Comments (72)I did it that way and it worked perfectly. After reading several threads about this on gardenweb, I decided to use hot water and powdered dishwasher detergent. I didn't feel comfortable using ammonia, and I had the detergent on hand, so decided to try that way first. I put a large plastic container in my tub, filled the container with hot water, sprinkled a lot of Cascade into the hot water, stirred it around, and placed the racks into it. Immediately, black gunk started separating from the racks and floating in the water (first picture below was taken only a few seconds after placing the racks in). I left the racks in there for a few hours, and then rotated them and repeated the process with more fresh water and detergent (because they were too long to fit completely). When done, I took them outside and hosed them off. There were just a few spots that I lightly scrubbed to get all the gunk off, but no hard scrubbing. It worked great and was very easy. The second picture is the final result. I guess I could have placed the racks into the tub directly, but I just wasn't sure if it would scratch....See Moremoonie_57 (8 NC)
