red lover, I bought the blancowave sink in the link for my pending remodel. Got a deal on ebay, so went ahead and bought it. After just looking at it lying there in the box for a few weeks whispering to me how much I would like to be using it, I finally caved and jerry-rigged an installation in the non-remodeled kitchen over the weekend. (It is an undermount sink, I have laminate counters, it is supposed to need a 42" sink base, I have 36 inches, the hole in the counter for the existing sink was totally the wrong size and shape, blah blah whatever. watch me make it work anyway). So far, I love it. The large side is big enough to hold my largest baking sheet, roasting pan, or largest skillet with handle; the small side is still big enough for a colander or stockpot. Good news, I believe your Insinkerator GD comes with a SS flange. Why don't you call them and ask, just to verify. You do need to buy an Insinkerator CRD-00 Power Cord Kit and if you're doing one, an Insinkerator STS-SO Single Outlet Switch (or double outlet switch if planning instant hot water or other) to use instead of a wall switch. I got both of these on Amazon too, and really like the Insinkerator Outlet Switch that is mounted near the faucet. If you need a soap dispenser with a better than average review record, look to the Moen 3942Csl (comes in classic stainless). Mine is up and running and works without multiple pumps. Moen customer service must get a lot of inquires about this model and matching others faucets: they were so helpful. No, no extra sink clips. My charge for weight on the SS delivery wasn't that much. I'm glad to hear you're finding these tips useful. Our sinks and faucets etc, are a workhorse in the kitchen too!

I have done a number of online searches on sink websites, but most of them don't give you much information regarding "fit" of the sink. donnakay2009: There is a Ferguson near me, I will check them out this week. I spoke to a cabinet vendor today and they told me that you can fit a 33-in sink into a 30-inch sink base by carving out the sides of the cabinet to fit the bowl--said they "do it all the time". I guess this is good news, but honestly it makes me a little uncomfortable as I'd rather have a clean fit. Anybody do this with an undermount sink? Does this technique concern anyone? The option to go to a 30-inch sink really improves my kitchen plan and resolves a major issue with my DH. I will update my information as I have it. Thanks.

I had a hard time deciding too. I took a hard look at how I use my sink (currently a double). We have a garden and belong to a CSA, so I soak a lot of veges on the right side while cleanup is on the left. I also like to wash on the left and drain the clean items on the right. I wanted to be able to lay cookie sheets and long pans flat too. I found a sink that satisfied both needs. I'm getting the Franke PRX120. I love this particular sink because it only needs a 39" base cabinet, whereas similarly sized sinks require a 42" base cabinet. Plus it has an integral shelf (optional) that you can rest a grid on that raises up the bottom so you don't have to reach in as far when you don't need to. I can lay flat my biggest cookie sheets and baking pans. It is stainless steel. In the end though go with what you like best, most people have definite preferences one way or the other. Do you know someone with a single bowl that you can try out the way that you'd be using it?
