Security and other stuff

This site is great for security testing -- Shields Up!:

https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2

The site also gets into DNS servers here:

https://www.grc.com/dns/benchmark.htm

with the small downloadable windows program Dnsbench.exe which doesn't "install" -- just runs by itself anywhere you put it. Benchmarks the speed of known DNS servers, but the next step, creating a custom list of your 50 closest (distance-wise) servers to benchmark, is best. It was there I found that my DNS servers were SLOW...

Changed to the fastest DNS servers (you need two addresses, not just one) near me and it works -- page loading is faster. In windows you change the DNS server addresses in the IPv4 network properties.

Changing DNS servers is not so easy in Linux, but after tinkering got both Puppy and Mint Linux to use the new DNS servers.
