Looking for predators from behind the sock. As I watch the goldfinch, they are always wary; taking a nibble only after looking in all directions.

murraysmom - the sprinkler looks very similar to the creations of a craftsman that would sell them at Quailcrest Farm, Wooster, at their Spring or Fall arts and craft faires. He would bring quite a few and they would all sell out before the day was over. Last year and this Spring, Mom and I made the comment that we hadn't seen him at the faires. He was elderly, perhaps he retired. I am sorry I never purchased one all those years.

A new little garden I added to the backyard this morning. The little red rose bush was a "giveaway" from my local nursery. They had a bargain bin to choose from - things mostly given up on for this year. But the little rose bush looked to be in pretty good shape and it has bloomed quite nicely in the past few weeks since I got it! And the bonus is that it has a great scent to it!!!

A huge mystery vine in the compost pile. Cucumber? squash? pumpkin? gourd? Guess I'll have to wait to find out. Only one big bloom ready to open so far, with a bunch of others coming on.
