Hanging Succulent Sphere
Comments (53)I've just started wreaths for Christmas gifts. It does take a long time for them to grow in. They say you need 100 cuttings to make one, but I don't have that many for 6 wreaths!!! So I have to wait for the ones I do have to grow. They are done on 12in forms, but are about 14-16in with moss. I use florist pins to hold the cuttings in and the wreaths can be hung after a couple of weeks. It's not my intent to hang them, however. They do dry out too fast when hung I think. They look nice on the patio tables. I also bought two sphere frames to do kissing balls which I haven't started yet....See MoreWhat the Easter Bunny Taught Me (heavy pics)
Comments (14)Karen, opps, we must of been typing at the same time. Sweet picture, made me bust out loud laughing. TJ is #252/2000 so there is alot like her out there. Luvs, DD does like to shop and then watch me smile. I'd like to think she inherited this from me.LOL OA, are you planning on sharing with us how your using the poem? The bunny has pink tulips and green stems painted on 'her'. Creek, my heart is still sad after reading your post about DD tonight. Hang in there and know we are all praying for you and yours. Jane, I don't think I'm much of an Energizer Bunny any more. Seems like I require more rest than I use to. I haven't had time to do any more decorating but will try to share a few more pictures of what I've decorated this weekend. Will miss your wonderful Easter table and decor this year for sure. Candy, it's so amazing how the enablers here have helped us increase our flatware as well as dishes and decor. I tell myself no more until I go shopping again.Darn It's fun to match flatware on our tables tho, don't you think? I will try to get more pictures taken and posted. Can't believe how time flies. Thanks so much for lookin and commenting! All your sweet comments are so appreciated. Know I care even if I don't get back here to comment in a timely mannor. Hope to see how some or all of you talented ladies use the poem. Punk...See MoreThoughts on using this type of succulent planter?
Comments (11)I do want to do this eventually ... and I am testing succulents that will survive in pots in my winter ... I would have used a combination of small sedums and hens and chicks... but in your weather I don't know how well hens and chicks will do ... plus I've already had H&Cs for several years and so it will not be expensive except for the cost of the planter. I like the idea cause it's a big space saver plus they look wonderful against walls and fences ... whatever you put in has to be compatible of course ... and you need to test them yourself ...for example creeping thyme and sedums should go together well but in my case the thyme kept drying out/dying too much ... otherwise it would be a gorgeous filler. also consider that the wall behind the hanger could get really hot and so whatever plants you have in there have to tolerated extreme heat/sun and dryness through wind ... again my yard/hardy/strong hen and chicks are fine ... the new H&Cs I bought last year ... probably not ......See MoreMaking succulent pots/containers
Comments (50)I concur with Rina. Just because a pot is billed as a "bonsai" pot, for example, that hardly means it is unsuitable for cacti/succs. Media choice and cultural practices will play a major roll in suitability. But if for some reason you must have a tall skinny pot, then you try a cymbidium pot:. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tall-unglazed-clay-orchid-pots-with-beautiful-oriental-design-handmade-/252426554962?var=551279703083&hash=item3ac5cb8e52:m:mWGRcKJgrcDeAmiJ9qdAAiw Or visit a website like: http://www.hayneedle.com/outdoor/planters_material-clay_list_187730_12407?source=msadcenter&kwid=terra%20cotta%20pots&tid=modbroad (Scroll down a few rows). But do keep in mind that you may have to pay considerably more for such....See MoreSophie H.
