Wednesday's wonderous bloomers
Comments (8)oh my,That first photo just takes my breath away. That is just gorgeous with the two blooms, that purple and Victorian lace is gotgeous together, then the next photo is beautiful too,and they keep getting better right to the end.it was good to see Wonder of it all again, too, mine is finished and I'm hoping for some rebloom on it.Last year, it had 13 scapes to start the season, then had 13 more scapes for rebloom.I'll be happy with just a coupe to extend its blooms.I did find my first repeat scapes this evening while watering a few that looked dry. found 2 rebloom scapes on Beautiful Edging, and one just starting on a nother plant, but, got so excited to see the 2 on Beautiful Edging,I forgot which other one had a scape. jean...See MoreWednesday's Wonders
Comments (10)We are probably about a week past the actual peak, but still having lots of bloom. Mantis, it has plenty of heat here, but it is a humid miserable heat...maybe it likes the humidity. Thanks you, Sugar Daddy always seems to show a lot of bloom...I am not always crazy about whites, but I do like this one. Brad, The first of May, so it has been going on for about six weeks now. It's always this way. Mine starts early and by the time everyone else is in high gear, I'm on a fast downhill slide for blooms. Thanks you, Bob. We are hot and sunny...mid 90s. Jerry Nettles was pretty in this shot, without thrip damage. kay...See MoreWet Wednesday Wonders
Comments (7)You got me at the Empire Returns (yellow being one of my favorite colors). That's really a nice form on it. Navajo Princess always looks grand and how amazing you got a bloom on her so quickly. They are all quite nice. It always takes me a minute to adjust to the diametrically opposite bloom time between N. America and Australia. We are just starting to bring in the houseplants here in prep for our first cold snap this week-end. All my potted daylilies will shortly be making the shift to a more sheltered location for winter. You have all the beauty right now......Maryl...See MoreWednesday Wonders
Comments (11)Mantis, I have tall ships in an incredibly bad place due to space constraints. It is supposed to be 38" it is usually in the 32 to 34 inch range, but the blooms are early open, flat and rarely splotchy. The color is very like my photo with the exception that it is slightly more lavender and less pink. The blooms are 6 to 7 inches, so up to list. Fried Green tomatoes is blooming quite well for a first year plant. The blooms are 5.5 " but recurve, the color is intense. It is precisely the 33 " it is supposed to be. It have bloomed well for a first year plant and the blooms open early and are perfectly formed and not splotchy. kay...See Moredaylilybedmaker
