Trim around Bay Window

greasetrap

The bay window in my old kitchen had a picture window in the center with smaller windows on each side. Each window had its own trim and windowsill.

In order to improve ventilation, the picture window is being replaced by 3 double hung windows in the new kitchen. My understanding was that the builder would trim the 3 double hung windows as one unit to make it look a bit like a picture window, and continue to trim the 2 small side windows separately.

Today I noticed that the carpenter is framing all 5 windows as one unit. Here is a photo (sill not installed yet):

I don't necessarily object to this, but it's not what I had expected. I've tried searching Houzz, but I can't find photos of similar window installation.

I'd appreciate hearing any thoughts you might have as to what would look better (i.e. trimming the 3 front windows as one unit or trimming all 5 windows as one unit). Also if anyone has links to similar window installations I'd appreciate it if you could post that as well.

Thanks for your help.
