Temporary finished basement?

Our new to us but 100 year old house has 800sf of basement with about 3/4 of it painted concrete. This is in Seattle and from all the unfinished basements I've looked at, it seems very dry and non musty etc. Some minor signs of moisture salt stains, but even the inspector did not raise a flag. Previous owner had a computer desk and storage down there, and a laundry room.

I'm thinking of waiting a year or so to see how well it holds up before maybe planning to finish into a media room and guest bed/office, but in the meantime I'd like to get some use out of it. I have two small kids and was thinking of slapping down some cheap carpet or rubber mat tiles and letting them have a playroom. Maybe even put the tv and cheap futon down there as we really only watch a movie once a week or so.

Is there anything else I should worry about or plan for? Happy to add space heaters and dehumidifier as necessary. Sound like a good plan?
