This one is confusing to me. It seems to have a tuft on it's head, light orange epaulets, short thick beak. Not sure about the color.....appears bluish, but it might just be the sun. Blue grosbeak?

Thank you! My apologies - I'm a newbie at this site. It looks like I hitched a ride on someone else's post. I will try to post a new thread. Not sure how, but I'll look into it. Thanks. Rosemariero, I've not seen flowers on this since I've had it. I think I recall reading the tag (but don't remember the name obviously) and it said white flowers...Thanks for your input.

1. Peony 2. ? Maybe Echinacea, maybe Rudbeckia. I'm not very familiar with either. 3. Sonchus sp. aka Sow Thistle (weed) 4. Achillea millefolium aka Yarrow. Maybe weed , maybe not depending on your attitude and its flower colour.

I have been so tempted by these but I suspect that we are too hot for too long here in Texas. My sister grows it on the Northern tip of the North Island of New Zealand.

Wow! I think Blue Grosbeak is what it was. I looked up its summer range - southern Illinois is at its northern edge. Didn't even know such a bird existed!

Thanks so much for id'ing it from iffy images.
