Blind corner pull out
Comments (30)I'm on the fence on whether to put a BC pull out in our new build. My current blind corner houses some rarely used things. I think the key is putting things there that have a specific purpose so it doesn't matter if you forget about them. In other words, the items will "tell you" when they're needed. When the time arises to use one of your blind corner items then you'll know. I've got my chafing dish, a huge roaster pan, a big tupperware cake transporter, punch bowl and a couple of other biggies all with specific purposes. If I put things like pretty trays or serving dishes back there then I might forget about them and never use them. On the other hand, when the need arises for the punch bowl, chafing dish, etc then I know right where it is.... nothing is back there that I have to remember to use..... if that makes any sense! I'm wondering in the new build if I'd be more irked by my big things not fitting in a pull out unit than having the occasional inconvenience of having to fish back there for something a couple of times a year....See MoreCan I hack a trash pull-out from an Ikea 15 inch depth cabinet base
Comments (19)The left is mounted on the side panel and the right is mounted on a special piece that IKEA sold for this application. Don't know if they still sell it, but I'm sure it could be reproduced. The center piece is basically a 1 1/2" piece of MDF that extends the depth of the cab and is secured at the back and front to the bottom of the cab. It functions as a short cab wall and I have a drawer rail mounted on both sides. In your case you could position in where you need to achieve your right wall. I hope I'm explaining this clearly enough, but hope this pic helps. I can take more pix tomorrow if that will help you. IKEA under sink pullouts...See MoreIkea blind corner hack - with photos
Comments (18)The two cabinets wouldn't have to be attached with a biscuit joint, although that looks best. There are hardware pieces for joining that would bridge the seams and screw in. For the shelves I think you could use the same technique but also perhaps put a narrow supporting post under the seam for extra strength. I was going to do this for my base corner b/c of its odd size, but chickened out. Major reason that I didn't use Ikea in the end....See MoreHas anyone retrofitted a LeMans blind corner pullout in IKEA cabinet?
Comments (16)It's not attached to the door, and it swings, then pulls out. Of course Ikea doesn't actually say that, because it would be helpful, and they can't have their website encouraging people to buy things. Here's a Video, it's installation, but I have it set to once he's pulling it out. (Not the best install video, either- there is a hole so that it's on the bottom of the cabinet, he apparently just didn't see it, per another install video)....See Morepoppy3212
